AR15.com News

August 2016

Another month closer to the presidential election, and the circus continues.

If we can set aside the media bias, the ever-increasing proof of lies and criminal activity that Hillary Clinton, the State Department, and the Clinton Foundation has been engaged in (and which has been ignored by the DOJ), and the rest of the racial and political issues that continue to surface every day for a minute, and enjoy this jewel.

A few days ago, Bill Weld (former Republican governor of Massachusetts and now Gary Johnson's running mate on the Libertarian ticket) summarized the anti-gun sentiment about as well as any of his peers could have:

“The five-shot rifle, that’s a standard military rifle; the problem is if you attach a clip to it so it can fire more shells and if you remove the pin so that it becomes an automatic weapon, and those are independent criminal offenses,” Weld said. “That is when they become, essentially, a weapon of mass destruction. The problem with handguns probably is even worse than the problem of the AR15.”

WTF?!?! Once again, the anti-gun "experts" publicly show the world a level of ignorance about a topic they want to pass laws against that is downright embarrassing.

We're not talking about Joe Blow on the street- these are career politicians who are looking to run the country! Weld was a U.S. Attorney for Massachusetts, then headed the Justice Department’s criminal division under the Reagan administration, and later served two terms as governor in Massachusetts! Now he's running for Vice President of the United States.

How is it that these "experts" can come to a conclusion about a topic they know nothing about, and by nothing I mean not enough to put together a sentence, and feel they must force it down the throats of their citizens?

Wouldn't the first thing you do if you wanted to speak about a topic, especially one you know people have such strong feelings about, be to educate yourself as much as possible so you don't sound like a complete moron when you open your mouth?

Not for democrats who pander to people's emotions. The facts don't matter. Common sense doesn't matter. They talk to hear themselves talk and make everyone feel like they're doing something to help the world.

They don't need facts to back up their positions. They don't need tools, or even guns to help the world because in fact they don't ever accomplish anything. They just talk.

It is up to others to do the hard work. To fight the battles that actually make a difference in the world.

And once they do, these politicians sit back and take the credit while criticizing the manner in which the job was done.

So how is anyone supposed to take anything else Weld says seriously after showing such ignorance? You can't. Ignorance is easily written off and he will not be taken seriously. That's fine.

Back to Hillary though, and the lies upon lies she's told to the American people. The lies she's told Congress. The lies she's told to the families of fallen soldiers, and all in pursuit of money and power. That, unlike the moronic comments by Weld cannot be ignored. Those are not based on ignorance, but on downright selfishness and a lack of concern for the welfare of others.

I'm confident the FBI investigations into the Clinton Foundation will turn up a mountain of evidence of criminal activity like we've never seen before in our history.

The question is what will happen when it does? Will the DOJ ignore it? Will the Obama administration wipe the slate clean, or will justice finally prevail?

A chief aim of the Constitution as drafted by the Constitutional Convention was to create a government with enough power to act on a national level, but without so much power that fundamental rights would be at risk. It is quite obvious that limit has been overstepped, and electing Hillary would essentially re-create the same greedy, selfish, tyrannical government that the King of England and Parliament had back in the 18th century. Then she could begin dismantling the Constitution piece by piece.

I hope the FBI does their job, and that the DOJ does theirs. I hope that the evidence that was purposely deleted from the private email server makes its way to the American people, and that the establishment and its corrupt politics are eliminated. I still have hope that all is not lost in our federal government, but I have no confidence.

In the meantime, we'll continue to do what is right, particularly for those that are true heroes. Check out the TNVC fundraiser in this email and check out the Rock Island Auction Freedom Challenge.

TNVC : SpecOps Fundraiser

TNVC is teaming up AR15.com to auction off the remainder of our Team Wendy product inventory.

One hundred percent of the proceeds will benefit three Special Operations charities: Shadow Warriors, Green Beret Foundation, and the Navy SEAL Foundation. These charities work closely with the families of fallen warriors.

TNVC will not take money for these items. In fact, no funds will pass through our hands. AR15.com will collect all money at the close of auction and distribute them to the above organizations.

There are two lots up for auction, divided by Size 1 (M/L) and Size 2 (XL). They contain numerous items including ballistic helmets, bump helmets, retrofit pad kits, and chin straps.

We realize that not everyone needs all of the items included in these lots. That’s why you are free to do whatever you want with the products if you win. Sell them, donate them, have tons of spares… Bidding will start at $1 for each lot.

Each lot is worth over $7,000.00. If they go for $1.00, they go for $1.00. We are asking that people bid from the heart, knowing that all the funds will be donated to help the families of fallen war-fighters who died far from home.

So follow the link below to see the massive list of items included in each lot, and let's raise some money for those that have given so much.

The Media Are Lying to Hide Clinton’s Animosity to the Second Amendment

This is the state of “journalism” today. Members of the media who desperately want Hillary Clinton to be elected president are stooping to unprecedented lows, abandoning all pretenses of impartiality, forfeiting whatever remnant of credibility they might otherwise have, trying to prevent voters from realizing that Hillary Clinton fundamentally opposes the individual right to keep and bear arms.

The Washington Post, to single out one of the worst in this regard, is worried that voters agree with Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump that if Clinton were elected, she would “essentially abolish the Second Amendment.”

Symbolic Gesture Illustrates Idiocy of Background Check Law

Initiatives to impose so-called “universal background check” laws are pending in Maine and Nevada, and a similar initiative was passed in Washington State in 2014. In addition to claiming that these laws don’t outlaw private transfers of guns or “criminalize traditional behavior,” proponents also allege the background check laws have “commonsense” and “reasonable exceptions.”

The NRA opposes these measures for many good reasons – that they are misleadingly portrayed as applying to only “sales,” that they accomplish little besides burdening honest gun owners with new fees and paperwork, and because these laws regulate temporary loans, gifts and similar innocuous “transfers” of guns, with few and inadequate exemptions.

Gun Controllers Peddle Declining Ownership Myth Amid Massive Growth in Firearms Manufacturers

While wishful gun control supporters keep peddling the fiction that gun ownership is declining, the firearms industry is growing at an explosive pace in order to meet a growing demand. Earlier this week, Arek Sarkissian of the Naples Daily News wrote a piece highlighting the aggressive growth in licensed gun manufacturers. As the content of the article made clear, interest in firearms is booming and the firearms industry is a vibrant sector of the U.S. economy.

As Sarkissian pointed out, at the outset of Barack Obama’s presidency in 2009, ATF had issued 3,040 active Type 07 Federal Firearms Licenses to manufacture firearms. The most recent ATF data available places the current number of Type 7 FFLs at 10,958. This is a more than 250 percent increase in the number of licensed firearms manufacturers over the past eight years.

John Lott, BJS Surveys and ATF Data Undercut Everytown’s Claims about Expanded Background Checks

It’s a good thing for Hillary Clinton that Michael Bloomberg decided against running for president this year. If America’s self-appointed uber-Nanny had thrown his hat in the ring, he would have made Clinton work overtime to retain her title as the least trusted presidential candidate in American history. As the Washington Post reported on July 25, Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump “now has a large lead on Clinton when it comes to honesty and trustworthiness.”

Bloomberg would also trail Trump in terms of honestly presenting the facts if he were judged on the basis of the claims that his anti-gun activist organization, Everytown, is making in its campaign for expanded background checks on firearm transfers.

First Gold of Summer Olympics Goes to America, Inspires Derision from Miserable Gun-Hating Jerks

Signs of the cultural schisms and declining love of country that are the chief legacy of the Obama presidency are all around us. And while not the most serious, one of the most unfortunate and pathetic is that Americans can no longer agree that a fellow patriot’s gold medal at the Olympics is something to be celebrated. At least not when the gold involves pulling a trigger.

Nineteen-year-old Virginian Ginny Thrasher became the first gold medalist of the 2016 Summer Olympiad last Saturday, winning the women’s 10-meter air rifle competition in an upset over heavily-favored China, whose competitors in the event have six prior Olympic medals between them.

Clinton Her Old Self During Interview

Last weekend, Democratic Party presidential nominee Hillary Clinton appeared on Fox News Sunday with Chris Wallace, where she was asked about the Second Amendment, the Supreme Court’s decision in District of Columbia v. Heller, and whether court decisions constitute precedent that should be respected.

Clinton answered, or did she? Here’s the exchange between Wallace and Clinton, beginning at 4:05 in this video:
